Is Relaxation Massage the Same as a Spa Massage?
It’s calming, but still grounded in therapeutic care.

Hi, I’m Rebecca, a qualified remedial massage therapist, mum of one, and Ballarat local. I work from a simple, home-based clinic in Newington, offering personalised massage that supports the physical and emotional changes that often arrive in midlife.
My approach to remedial massage is nurturing, not forceful. Each session is shaped around how your body feels on the day - whether you’re carrying muscular tightness, emotional load, or simply the need to slow down and reconnect.
My home-based clinic is intentionally simple and non-clinical, designed to feel calm, private, and welcoming. Many clients describe it as a pause from the outside world, a place where they can finally exhale.
your body is respected, not pushed
pain is listened to, not ignored
care is personalised, not standardised
Massage can be a powerful support during times of transition, helping ease muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and support your nervous system as it adapts to change.

Body Nurture Massage is a growing practice, built through word-of-mouth and returning clients.
I hold a Diploma of Remedial Massage and choose to grow slowly and thoughtfully, prioritising depth of care over volume. My focus isn’t just on treating conditions, it’s on supporting comfort, balance, and wellbeing in a way that feels human and respectful.
Many of the women I see are in their 40s, 50s, and early 60s, balancing work, family, stress, sleep changes, hormonal shifts, and the quiet realisation that what used to “just work” in their body doesn’t anymore. Muscle tension lingers longer. Recovery feels slower. Stress sits deeper.

Many women find it helps them feel more settled at night.
Calming the nervous system can make it easier to drift into deeper rest.

It depends on what your body needs right now. If you have one clear problem area, 30 minutes is usually enough. If tension involves a couple of connected areas, 45 minutes gives us more space to treat it properly. If everything feels tight or it’s been building for a while, 60 minutes allows for a more thorough, unrushed session.
Wear whatever you’re comfortable arriving in. During the session, you’ll be appropriately draped with towels. If you prefer to keep more clothing on, we can adapt techniques accordingly.
Hydrate, keep movement gentle, and avoid smashing a heavy workout immediately after deep tissue work (unless that’s been discussed as part of your plan).
Not at all. Many clients book to prevent issues building up, especially if they sit a lot, train regularly, or carry stress in their body.
