Rebecca · Qualified Remedial Massage Therapist · $90· 60 mins · Ballarat

Relieve pain. Release tension. Restore movement.

Remedial massage supports your body by easing muscular tension, improving movement, and encouraging relaxation. Sessions are guided by how your body feels on the day, using focused techniques that support recovery without overworking sensitive areas.

What This Session Is Best For

Remedial massage is ideal if you are experiencing
  • Neck or shoulder tightness from desk work, stress tension, poor posture
  • Lower back or hip tightness (standing, lifting, parenting, long drives)
  • Headaches linked to muscular tension (jaw, neck, upper back)
  • Sore legs or glutes after walking, gym, sport, or returning to exercise
  • Limited range of motion (feeling “stuck” through shoulders, hips, or back)
  • General body fatigue and muscle “heaviness”
  • Recovery support after strain or minor injury (where appropriate)
If you’re not sure what type of massage you need, this session is a safe starting point. It can be adjusted to be more therapeutic, more relaxing, or a blend of both.

Techniques Used

Techniques are selected based on your body, comfort level, and what you want to get out of the session.
There is no pre-set routine.
Your session can include one or a combination of
  • Deep tissue massage (for dense, stubborn tension)
  • Trigger point therapy (for “knots” and referred pain patterns)
  • Soft tissue mobilisation (to restore movement and ease tightness)
  • Stretching / assisted muscle release work (to improve range and comfort)
Your treatment is always personalised, we use what works, skip what doesn’t.

What To Expect In Your Appointment

First Time Clients: What You Need To Know

If you’re booking with Body Nurture Massage for the first time, please select:

First Time – Massage Therapy with Rebecca | $80 | 1 hour

This option is required for new clients because you must fill in the client history form and the terms and conditions form before your massage commences. This ensures your session is safe, appropriate, and tailored properly from day one.

Returning Clients

Return – Massage Therapy with Rebecca | $80 | 1 hour

Perfect if you’ve been in before and want to continue a treatment plan, maintain progress, or book in when your body starts feeling tight again.

How Often Should I Book?

It depends on your goal:

  • Active pain or tension: weekly or fortnightly for a short block

  • Maintenance: every 3–6 weeks

  • Stress and body fatigue: regular sessions can help prevent tension from locking in

If you want, we can map out a simple plan no pressure, just practical guidance.

1) Quick check-in (2–5 mins)

We’ll discuss what’s been going on: where you feel pain/tension, what makes it worse, and what you want to get out of today’s session.

2) Assessment (as needed)

If it’s relevant, we may look at posture, movement patterns, or where your body is compensating.

3) Treatment plan

You’ll know what we’re working on and why. You’re always welcome to ask questions or adjust the approach.

4) Hands-on therapy

Techniques are selected based on your body and comfort level. Pressure is always adjusted — effective doesn’t have to mean intense.

5) Aftercare guidance (optional)

If helpful, you’ll receive a few simple recommendations (hydration, heat/ice guidance, gentle stretches, pacing tips) to help results last longer.

Remedial Massage Treatments

This treatment uses deeper, more targeted pressure to work into specific areas that are holding tension or restricting movement.
We use techniques like trigger point therapy and deeper soft tissue work. It’s about working slowly, carefully, and deliberately so your muscles can release without feeling attacked.
The focus is on what’s actually bothering you. That might be a tight neck that keeps triggering headaches, a stubborn hip that won’t loosen, or a shoulder that’s starting to limit how you move.  So you’ll usually notice more focused attention on one or two areas rather than everything at once. The aim is practical improvement — better movement, less tension, and relief that lasts beyond the day of your appointment.

Select your session duration

Some sessions need focused, targeted work.
Others need more time to settle.

Usually time to work on One specific problem area (neck, shoulder, lower back).  Best for:

  • Ongoing or chronic tension
  • Multiple areas needing attention
  • Menopause-related muscle stiffness
  • When your whole body feels overloaded
  • A more thorough reset
Your choice of session length depends on what’s going on for you right now — how many areas need attention, how long things have been building, and how much time your body needs to respond.

FAQs

What If I Need to Cancel?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know the day before your appointment.
You’re always welcome to contact Rebecca directly to rearrange.

Do I Have to Pay a Deposit?

No deposit is required.
You simply pay on the day of your appointment.

What Remedial Session Duration is best?

It depends on what your body needs right now. If you have one clear problem area, 30 minutes is usually enough. If tension involves a couple of connected areas, 45 minutes gives us more space to treat it properly. If everything feels tight or it’s been building for a while, 60 minutes allows for a more thorough, unrushed session.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you’re comfortable arriving in. During the session, you’ll be appropriately draped with towels. If you prefer to keep more clothing on, we can adapt techniques accordingly.

What should I do after my massage?

Hydrate, keep movement gentle, and avoid smashing a heavy workout immediately after deep tissue work (unless that’s been discussed as part of your plan).

Do I need to be in pain to book remedial massage?

Not at all. Many clients book to prevent issues building up, especially if they sit a lot, train regularly, or carry stress in their body.

A 30-minute session is focused and efficient. We’ll concentrate on the area that’s most uncomfortable and work steadily to reduce tension and improve movement.

This length allows a bit more space, enough to treat the main issue properly while also supporting surrounding areas that may be contributing. Best for:

  • Two connected areas (neck + shoulders, back + hips)
  • Pain that’s been building for a few weeks
  • When tension feels more widespread
  • First-time clients needing assessment and treatment

A 60-minute session gives your body time. Time to warm up. Time to respond. Time for deeper, more complete treatment without rushing.  It’s often the right choice when everything feels tight, not just one spot.

  • Ongoing or chronic tension
  • Multiple areas needing attention
  • Menopause-related muscle stiffness
  • When your whole body feels overloaded
  • A more thorough reset
Your choice of session length depends on what’s going on for you right now — how many areas need attention, how long things have been building, and how much time your body needs to respond.
